Automated Processing Equipment for the Life Sciences Industry.
The Life Sciences sector demands highly domain-specific expertise when it comes to developing large-scale projects. We not only have the expertise and specialization, but also the experience of working with Global Life Science Companies , hence we understand the challenges and scope of work in this industry.
Watson Brown Automation was approached by a tier one supplier of solid dose pharmaceutical processing equipment to support the Electrical, Instrumentation and Control System design of their processing equipment. This involved designing, installing and commissioning the hardware, as well as designing and programming PLCs, SCADA systems and recipe/batch handler. This project presented a number of challenges: being in the life science sector there were lots of regulations to follow for example 21 CFR part 11 & GAMP for quality control and DSEAR & ATEX for increased risk of explosion. The project team at Watson Brown Automation was able to meet all these requirements by providing Electrical CAD designs of the hardware components, Programming the PLC / HMI / SCADA , installing them on site, and commissioning and qualification using the V-model (IQ/OC/PQ) according to gAMP. The result was an improved level of safety along with increased product yield, reduced maintenance costs and greater repeatability in production.
We provide a wide range of services which contribute to providing a complete end-to-end solution for projects we undertake across various industries
